My point exactly. Owning a horse is more expensive than just the horse itself and it's really only something the rich or over-extended middle class can enjoy. For cars, it will be worse; after all why build enthusiast cars when you are building profitable autonomous cars unless there's big money in it? Cars are

Well that's certainly a lot cheaper than horse ownership costs up here. I do know several middle class people up here who think they can afford a horse, but a 1% increase in their mortgage or a long overdue Canadian housing correction will put an end to that fantasy. Me, I think I'll start a Horsepower farm and rent

I may be 50, but obviously I'm not as old as some on here. I think they look good.

I have never bought a car, new or used, based on how well it will survive a crash. But I have bought every one on how easily it will aid me in avoiding one.

Can you afford a horse?

Unfortunately without the sales volume the "leisure" car will become a rich persons passion. Much like horse riding.

Too true. My son is in his third year of kart racing, and there are already a handful of Prima Donna's around him. And frankly, after his first win last weekend... ;-)

Interesting.

First, I'm not a fan. But I respect her and the hard work she put in to get to the top. At 16 she moved to the UK to advance her career. She scored a second-place in Britain's Formula Ford Festival, the highest finish by an American in the event. She has 2 top 10's and a pole in Sprint Cup, 7 top 10's and a pole in

Talentless at best? I'm sorry, but you have shown yourself to be clueless at best.

I don't get the Danica hate? She can drive, and while she may not be the very best she's competitive and attractive to sponsors, and without sponsors there would be no auto racing.

Sorry to disagree, but it was the most practical car I ever owned as all my sedan, van, truck driving friends, some who even dared call it a chick car, would trade with me in a heartbeat. I'm serious, I have not had that kind of vehicular access since I sold my last Miata and moved into BMWs on my way to my current 4

Stop worrying what you look like, (other people likely aren't that concerned with you) and embrace it's sheer fun of driving.

Lower belt line, more refined body style (unlike bulky 3rd gen) less weight, elegant instrumentation with chrome surrounds, a sweet shifting manual and a high revving engine and I'm good.

You are math? Ah no.

"girlie car", is that supposed to be a derogatory term? My Miata's were called girlie cars, my orange and then baby blue BMW were called girlie cars, and you know what, maybe they were. They attracted a lot of female attention. In any case, call them what you want. I loved 'em all. And I'm secure enough in my

I can't believe I'd never heard this before. Thanks!

metric "tonnes".

Having worked in Germany I can tell you the unions work differently. They ensure good workers are treated fairly but they don't protect bad workers.

What I find odd is that cars assembled in Canada count toward a domestic product, but parts suppliers in Canada in some cares do not?
