Honestly? In my experience, men who self-identify as liberal are often the very, very worst when called out on sexism or misogyny. Pointing out that maybe something they’ve said or some opinion they hold is problematic in one way or another results in either ranting about #NotAllMen and how very liberal they are or a

God knows what I watched when I was a kid but I’m always convinced I’m going to be attacked and raped on a dirty floor and no one will come in.

I was thinking about this the other day. 10/10, would watch The Niles & Daphne Years... now with more Martin! It would work, too- Frasier was moving to Chicago at the end of the series, anyway.

I believe Anna Kendrick’s from Portland- I assume her parents still live around there somewhere, right? I have to say, every time I read her snark-filled Twitter feed, it renews my Mainer pride.

Wait, what? I was born and raised in Maine- how the heck am I only finding this out now? I knew about Travolta having a place in Biddeford Pool, and Stephen King, obviously, but had no idea about Frakes. Huh.

I didn’t even think of that, but I bet you’re right, actually.

Oh, shit. I would binge watch that like no tomorrow if they did. Actually, why isn’t it on Netflix or Hulu or somewhere? Talk about a show that lends itself to mindless binge watching.

Oh, God, I remember those fights way too well. Seattle was an amazing season- anyone who thinks otherwise can GTFO with Stephen.

Same dead eyes in both pictures- we should’ve known then, really.

Also in Germany, although with the U.S. government, and our office culture is much the same. Our local staff usually all eat lunch together, either in the cafeteria or at a large conference table down in the office. The Americans sometimes eat with the local staff, sometimes eat up in the cafeteria. It’s really nice,

I have Foreign Service acquaintances who are posted to countries where abayas need to be worn for certain representational events and/or out in public, and they’ve said much the same thing. They wouldn’t necessarily choose to wear them, but the fact that they can wear shorts and a t-shirt underneath, if they want to,

He’s actually a good guy- the irony is that I’m white, and he’s not. But clearly, we won’t be going to see a movie together any time soon.

I could maybe see it being entertaining if I went someplace like Alamo Drafthouse, was half in the bag and with a friend in an empty theater where we could MST3K the fuck out of it. Or as a Rifftrax Live entry (which, let’s be honest, is probably its most likely longterm destination).

The sloths were perfect- everyone was losing it in my theater. The rest of the trailers were shite. Honestly, I know it’s probably sacrilege for a Trekker to say this, but I was hoping for the new Star Trek trailer, even. At least I could take the opportunity to ogle Karl Urban for a bit that way.

I had a coworker the other day who said something like, “Eh, it was kind of disappointing, it was just the first movie. The trailers beforehand were more exciting,” and my reaction was essentially:

God, that was downright swoon worthy. Such a genuinely good guy. I will be forever bitter that a Gambit movie wasn’t made early enough that Harry Connick, Jr. could play Gambit. He’s basically the only person in the world that I think could make me actually like that character.

Oh, God, that Harry Connick, Jr. clip is the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever seen- and I first saw it years ago. It does, however, make me love Harry even more than I ever thought possible (which is already a lot), and provide a really salient illustration of how to be a good ally in situations like this. Harry

It’s not far off of what I know of the Mainland Chinese system, either. The 高考 (university entrance exam) there is basically the most important day in most students’ lives, at least up to that point. You get the same rash of suicides, intense pressure to perform, et cetera, et cetera. When I was living there a couple

He’s the gift that keeps on giving, and Harrison Ford is a national goddamn treasure.
