While it’s definitely a dick move to wake someone else up and doom them to 90 years of isolation, can anyone really blame Pratt’s character?

Did talented and kind escape you? As a woman who of partial North African descent, who was mocked and bullied in childhood for having large lips (‘bongo lips’ was the insult if you must know), and unconventional colouring, hell, yeah, I’m going to value a Black woman’s beauty. And shout it from the rooftops.
Because W. was ignorant and low class but he wasn’t malicious. I’d think most people could tolerate that arrangement because evil is a whole other thing. Trump is all of the above.
In The Hut is a good one. I’m pretty sure I learned the term Shark Week from this blog, which my wife and I immediately adopted.
I live alone, run a business, live in a city with exceptional transport links and the means to get a taxi if absolutely necessary - which it rarely is. The idea that not having a license somehow means you can’t travel is ludicrously bloody stupid.
Depends where you live. I would say in most of the US it’s virtually essential, but there are still plenty of places where there’s good public transit, no cars, prohibitively expensive cars, etc. These places are usually either really big or really small.
Or season 1 of game of thrones.
“He said if he didn’t have his license, that friend would have suffered serious brain damage while they were waiting for an ambulance”
Step one to increasing your ‘masculinity’ is to give zero fucks what some other person thinks about you, your capabilities or how you spend your time. You get one life - live it the way you want.

Their campaign against alcohol was more of a way for them to simply live. Through our 2016 eyes, it may seem like they…
My friend was a wedding guest. It was the mother of the bride. :(

Black dude here. I think one of the reasons we say “white person doesn’t get it” it is because unless you have immersed yourself in the culture, the people, and traditions it really is hard to get it. In America white culture is presented as the norm (TV, movies, magazines, politics for the most part) so different…
I’m Asian, and I even wrote about my problem with Dr. Strange’s whitewashedness in The Washington Post. And I find Tilda’s responses to be nuanced and willing to listen. If this is truly the receipts, Swinton has my respect for trying to respectfully navigate this issue.
1) really not outraged.
If Swinton came in demanding Cho enlighten her I would 100% agree with your comment; I think burnout from being required to be a cultural ambassador is a very real phenomena that POC experience. But Swinton literally opened with the line: “Tell me to fuck off if you feel like it.” Did their conversation go 100%…
Well I have lots of conversations with my white friends who absolutely get it that are productive and honest. I was specifically talking about in my comment the tendency for white people (and yes, I know not all white people) to be resistant to looking at an issue from a historical perspective, and I think that’s…
‘Cause I’m gonna need that boat
