Paul Wesley’s Kirk is growing on me. He’ll never be Shatner, but he does an good take on the character, that it’s own thing and not a Shatner or a Chris Pine impression. I quite liked the exploration of Jim and Sam’s sibling relationship. As someone who has had a testy sibling relationship I get it. It’s kind of funny…
I agree he doesn’t have the charisma, but one thing he is better then Shatner at is showing just how tactical and intelligent Kirk is. So to me it’s a bit of a wash.
sent to live with her estranged aunt (Alicia Silverstone)
I dont think you should read his comments to be that there will be no mention of his origin, just that they aren’t going to show it again.
YES.
“Certainly not Benedict Cumberbatch!”
Oh good, a kid companion on Doctor Who. That worked out so well with Susan and Adric
RIP John Romita, one of my all time favorite comic book aritsts and THE definitive Spider-Man penciller. Also the first artist to draw the version of Black Widow that exists today:
R.I.P. - Such a loss.
From what I’ve seen Hoult is probably the strongest acting choice, amongst those three... but I can’t imagine that guy playing Superman unless he can somehow put on, like, 50 pounds of muscle.
I just dont get how Jonathan Majors gets cancelled and Henry Cavill gets let go and this shit heel keeps working
Two words: Grant Gustin
(Mind, I’ll note that he’s clearly ready to move on from the role, which is fair enough after a decade in it)
Season 2's pace is generously described as “rapid,” but there’s still a lot of fantastic moments there. His performance in the scene where he has to execute Cicero and Cicero is quite polite and understanding about it and Pullo regrets having to do it but then goes and has a nice day out in the country with Vorenus…
Man, he was so great in Rome. Looking back I almost wish they had killed it after series 1 though. Series 2 is an absolute mess,so much so it killed any rewatchability for me.
That’s actually a pretty good point. Superguy who can do anything who is effectively weighted down by his innocence paired with a woman who “knows how the world actually works” is a pretty good dynamic, and gives Lois something to do more that just scream when falling from great heights.
I’ve been a huge fan of Nicholas Hoult since he was on Skins, and have been thrilled by his success in the last decade plus.
I, for one, am SO looking forward to seeing this!
Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women. I’ve used this quote more than I should in every day conversation...
