Has anyone noticed the quiet takeover of original sci-fi/fantasy television by our good neighbors to the north, Canada? Lost Girl, Continuum, and now Borealis. This new show sounds pretty cool and fairly topical. I do like that we someone filling the gaps in American television, I hope this trend continues.

I know that they have invested a ton into this, including the tie-in game, probably cost close to BSG levels, so I am hoping for at least 2 seasons.

Defiance is looking like the Science Fiction show that we all have been craving, I thought it was going to be kinda like a post-Falling Skies type show, but it is looking a bit more nuanced than that, and did any one else get the Firefly vibe from it? looks frackin' awesome.
