Wont the engine run out of steam way before 9000 RPM? I found the power curve for my car and im just uselessly wearing my engine if I go past 5500 RPM (redline at 7k). Is this just for downshifting? I looked up some other Porsche power curves and they also have the dramatic drop in power and torque at a certain RPM

A little different take on the question but here goes. This car is almost twice my age and the only safety features are seatbelts and a collapsable steering column. Its pretty much all original and the tires are Michelin MX4s from 2006(tons of tread, but starting to get some sidewall cracks from the age).
