Yes, far too few movies use 3D really well. But I’d argue that those are just the movies that use 3D in a truly innovative or transformative way. And while that’s great, there’s nothing wrong with the 3D of a movie just being cool, or fun or pretty. And there’s quite a few more movies that do that.
Much like Ant-Man, Pacific Rim’s 3D helped with the scale.
