They can’t watch the best e-sports players go to extremes to play a fun and competitive game? They can’t talk with people about it? And if it’s just to fit in, what about the people who watch less mainstream sports? Are you saying people only watch sports because of peer pressure?

So the same is true of games. People watch them to see much better players do things they personally couldn't.

That people criticize the idea of watching video games instead of playing them, while doing the same with sports is perfectly acceptable.

But people who already have the space and equipment still will watch sports. Hell, they’ll get friends together, people they could be playing with, to watch a game.

People watch professional bicycling.

And yet people with access to all of those things still watch football.
