Which I understand. But the extent of their analysis was just to plug bad data in to Excel, run a canned analysis, and get results that mean nothing. Which is what I mean when I says it’s poor analysis: the numbers themselves are fine but the context for them is shoddy at best.

Precisely. This is amateur-level statistical analysis performed on poorly-controlled samples that I’m sure the NFL paid six figures to obtain in pursuit of an unknowable, unprovable, incriminating number.

this might be the sort of thing a horrible person who calls for an end to sudden-death overtime would point to.

I'm not one for blinding, irrational hatred, but that woman filming the donkey video needs a special corner in hell.

I like the third one’s style. He knew the importance of neck angle: by holding it up high before chomping, all the delicious juices ran down his throat instead of ending up on the ground.

The Eagles are in the best spot to land him because Mariota’s value is different to each team and his value to the Eagles > his value to anyone else. No one knows Mariota better than Kelly, Mariota knows Kelly better than any other coach, the system was built for him, and they’re far and away the closest of all these

It’s like a Bill Simmons race relations lecture at Tufts University.

Well, Ottawa was lucky to be in the playoffs at all. They benefited largely from a late-season surge from a rookie and a journeyman goalie (let’s not discount the latter’s value in the playoffs) but they were hardly an offensive juggernaut.

I think Mourinho left Courtois in because with Chelsea’s defense and strategy, he knew that he could probably allow another 10-15 minutes run before he’d face another shot. Courtois is a world-class keeper but few shots reach him on-target due to the work of Terry, Ivanovic, Cahill, Azpilicueta, and Matic. Those guys

Terry maybe. But not Cahill. He has a damn good replacement in Zouma, so he would have swapped the two.

I agree with you and I have argued with friends for the same policy, but I’m not sure simply increasing the substitution allowance would fix this situation.

This isn’t the first time this has happened to Chelsea this year. Courtois was clearly concussed the last time these teams played (a coincidence, I’m sure) and Chelsea put him back in goal. He was pulled about 15 minutes later when he started bleeding from inside his ear.

I want some of whatever Ray took this morning.

Herbalife is going to be all over this.

Eh - wide receivers, so much. Aside from kickers I think WRs are the least intimidating players to fight. Case in point, his teammate at Notre Dame.

It’s got to be. He sees this every day.

Wow. Really made him look like a Dumba55 there.

I would counter that religious fanaticism and adrenalin is one hell of a drug cocktail. And like others, it takes time to detox from. I’m not defending him in any way, but this whole piece of evidence seems intended more to shock the public than it is to make actual sense.

I’m having a hard time getting behind the prosecution here. Obviously they have to give a spirited, full-press effort to convict; but bringing this much subjective “evidence” and emotion to the court just to ensure a death sentence seems something less than human. It would make so much more sense to focus on ways that

With horns. Don’t forget the horns.
