You can play as an archer, and on PC the speed of your shots is the speed of your clicks. I don't think it would be "semi-auto" but you can play virtually any way you want. Your class gives you a base set of skill trees, your armor provides certain perks and your weapons provide unique abilities based on their

If you're looking for anything that resembles a shooter out of a western fantasy MMORPG, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Archery would definitely be your best bet, but if you thought Skyrim lacked precision and impact, wait til it's filtered through a 200 ms MMO server.

I would say stick to staves since their ranged attack locks on target. Unlike most MMOs your only 2 locks are your race and main class after that weapons and armor are what you make of it, if you want to feel like a god go Templar their healing and attack magic are great for power leveling solo.

An archer maybe or a mage of some sort firing fireballs and stuff

I like it too and I respect that...I have just constantly been disappointed by MS's lack of willingness to support their developments in the long run.

That's exactly what I'm doing. Haven't even logged in since just before the release of the first DLC and won't again until the second piece is out.

Sounds like the Guild Wars 2 route mostly?

I believe they want the opposite. They want lots of steam. So that you cant see anything.

So Steam doesn't want to be steamy. Hmmm.

I'm not nay saying it just being cautiously optimistic. I am just basing my opinion on past MS history/ reveals, they like to load up the hype train but then it doesn't go anywhere. I am happy as hell for the cross PC/Xbone thing I just hope it is something that will happen on more than one game title though.

I can't wait for people to start walking into walls because of this. I know I will.

they demo'd it.

In real time.

all other reveals have been pre-rendered but this was real time man. When this comes out... wow.

Oh man, can you imagine warhammer-esque games with this? Amazing.

I 'll believe it when I get to see it with my own eyes, as far as I am concerned until it hits market it's just all fluff. Ive sat through plenty of MS's reveals in the past and they like to show a lot of possible things but that is all you will ever see of the idea is at a reveal and you will never see it hit the

Maaaan, board-games could gain even more awesomenes with this.

This is the coolest thing Microsoft has done in a long time.

finally i can try this game! Kotaku readers unite anyone?!

I'm sad you didn't mention what I thought was one of the best parts: the interactive, immersion-building viral marketing. Specifically, the fake Reuters reporter whose audio logs you find throughout the game (and briefly meet) that had a separate travel website that you could visit before and after the game launched

'FUN' is a very nice defence for some idiots and a shelter for some more or less reasonable people. but, like liberty, people fail to understand the concept.

Games are made with a more or less fixed set of rules, challenges and goals. this isn't a sandbox game where the creators hand you the tools and you're supposed

These sort of random game modes are the only way I'll play competitive games anymore. Or heck, even MMO's. Players in these games are so focused on winning and optimization that nearly 99% of the creative, fun ways to play are stomped out of existence by sheer negative force. I can't play a champ the way I want to, I
