I’ve seen plenty of fighting game events branded simply as a specific game event. The difference is that the FGC was never stupid enough to think it was an official event. Console arcades/internet cafes are also not free. You pay for X amount of time just to be there.
The situation you described with Mario is

That doesn’t make any sense. It wasn’t the 20 year anniversary in 2016. Either way, why would they celebrate the 20 year anniversary of something they’ve completely pushed aside and don’t plan on doing anything with? They didn’t do anything for the 10th or 15th anniversary. Just suddenly doing something for 20 doesn’t

Sounds a lot like they did what the fighting game community has done for years. Hosted events for games, and charged people entry to play them. Some have been good, some have been bad, but until fairly recently, none of them were official tournaments recognized by the companies that made them.

Alphonso used those dances as the “basis” for the carlton dance. He didn’t rip them directly. He’s really just being modest and admitting that he used those as inspiration, and his dance is an interpretation of them. Go and actually watch the dances he references, and then look at the carlton dance. They are different.

It’s super weird how much attention Xenogears has been suddenly getting lately. Got a cameo in World of Final Fantasy, a collab with Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and now this. It has to be leading to some kind of announcement about the series. They ignored it for years, and now they suddenly care about it. It’s very

Suddenly replacing Sora would have upset fans. Doing it gradually makes a lot more sense.

Was mildly interested in trying this game, but knowing that you HAVE to pay money for LOOT BOXES after hitting the level cap completely destroyed that. Cosmetic or not, I’m not going to be forced to pay for loot boxes in a F2P game. There should always be the ability to earn everything as a F2P player.

Advent Children is a movie, not a game. It was also pretty successful, so that doesn’t help your point. Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it was bad or that Nomura is a bad director. I enjoyed it. Especially the Complete version.

I obviously disagree, but you’re welcome to your opinion. It’s just very obvious that Nomura is moving the series into much more mature territory. I mean, a character legit died. That’s pretty dark. I’m honestly shocked it didn’t get a T rating because of it. He’s even said that he doesn’t like that he’s been stuck

Probably had to do with Disney being Disney. I imagine Nomura made a deal with Disney saying that KH3 will be heavy Disney and they can tell him to do whatever they want him to do, but then he gets to take the Kingdom Hearts name and do whatever he wants with it. As long as the Disney characters are gone.

Um, how has his directoral track record been “abyssmal”? He’s only directed the KH series. KH is a worldwide phenomenon.

After reading too many interviews, and the secret reports, I have a theory about all this. Kingdom Hearts is ending. The next game will be a sort of passing of the torch from Sora and Riku to Yozora. From then on, the story will follow Yozora’s exploits across the now hinted at multiverse, and will be Verum Rex. This w

I’ve been seeing ads for this game, but honestly thought it was just trying to rip off Chrono Trigger and appeal to that game’s audience through the all powerful nostalgia. Now I know for sure that it is, since it’s made by the same people. But now I’m actually interested in playing it.

It’s not called being smart, it’s called being lucky. Thousands of talented and genuinely smart people try to make it in various forms of entertainment, and the vast majority of them fail. Only a few happen to get lucky enough to be picked by the right person. Many others were simply born rich and knew the right

Having money doesn’t make you smart. Especially when it comes to people in entertainment.

Most F2P mobile games are like that, so it’s not very surprising. Having it only be $2-$20 per character is actually incredibly cheap compared to most games. Many can cost hundreds per character, with no way to earn them in game or even have a guaranteed drop. If you want to see game that’s bad about it, play Kingdom

I got real excited when I saw this headline, then I saw it was made by the people who made the mobile game and got less excited. Then I watched the trailer, and all hope of it being a good game was lost. It just looks like they just took the assets from the mobile game and the animation looks pretty jumpy and awkward.

Except they didn’t tell anyone much of anything. They just said diablo news was coming, and hinted at what it might be. That is in no way saying exactly what was coming. It’s just more vague nonsense.

Wish they would have done Katamari Forever instead of the first one. It has basically all of the levels from all of the games up to that point. I definitely would have picked it up had it been, but since it’s just the first game, I’m going to pass.

The fact that it stretches the image is an automatic pass. That kind of thing bugs me way too much. It’s also only upscaling to 720p, so it’s still going to look pretty rough on a 1080p or especially a 4k display. The best way to play these old games is on an old CRT anyway.
