I would point out that using a magnet right next to your phone will mess up the internal compass. Most of the time it won’t matter because you’ll be traveling fast enough for the phone to orient itself with GPS (taking the last several points and drawing a line indicating direction of travel), but if you’re driving

I’m confused by the photo at the top of the article. To the right of the GoPro is a cool looking wristwatch. Where is that in the list of deals? Did I miss it?

Can companies decrypt VPN connections? I often use my tablet on the company wifi (which is set up specifically for employee’s personal devices) and connect to a VPN server that I pay for. I was under the impression that VPN data was secure. Am I wrong?

I highly suggest AVOIDING the HooToo USB hubs. I had two of them and had to throw them both out because they kept glitching out. Things would be running along smoothly and then suddenly my MacBook Air would complain that the drives were removed without properly ejecting them. It was much more than an annoyance,

I've owned two pairs of the QY7's. Both of them broke within a month of having them. The electronics didn't die; it's the physical casing that snapped in half after being jostled around in my backpack. I wasn't super rough on them, but they were being jostled around in a heavy, loaded backpack. If you think you'll be

I had the QY7 earbuds for a while. My first pair broke within a few weeks, and the replacement pair broke within two weeks of receiving them. The plastic neck between the outermost part of the headphones and the middle "knuckle" is really weak. Just jostling them around in my backpack broke them.

This may have already been pointed out, but if you're a university student Office 365 costs $80 for 4 years of service. You pay it all at once and get 4 years of service. That means that you're paying $20/year for unlimited (or possibly 1TB, see other discussions) storage. I don't think you'll find a better offer

I just checked the OneDrive app on my Mac, and it's telling me that I have 10.1TB of storage. The 0.1TB is from when I used Bing Rewards before purchasing a student edition of Office 365.

I'm curious what kinds of health data people are worried about being leaked/stolen. Some things I understand; if I was being treated for paranoid schizophrenia or any of a whole slew of mental disorders I would be very concerned that no one but my doctor knows what's going on. On the other hand, do I really care who

If you're interested in the design and psychology of slot machines I highly recommend the the 99% Invisible episode "No Armed Bandit". Even if you're not interested in slot machines, I still suggest 99% Invisible. It's an amazing podcast.

No problem. I understand. Thanks for replying and including the link.

Mr. Arnoldy, if you're reading this I have a question for you.

I almost bought the Bluetooth tracker, but then I saw the Amazon reviews:

Man, I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw the headline "$250 MacBook Airs"

Oh, and I find it frustrating when people ask, "Is all this technology really worth the social cost?" Yes! I don't have to worry about measles, mumps, or smallpox. I can instantly purchase almost any book I want on my Kindle. I can listen to educational podcasts about anything I could hope to learn about (Hardcore

That was really beautiful.

No problem. The trick to using a flatbed scanner is to use one that scans really, really quickly. I've been fortunate enough to find one (actually two) of these at my school library. I can't vouch for a public library, though.

I'd love a Fujitsu scanner, but I can't easily afford one on a grad student stipend.

I don't know, but I can assure you that it's really expensive. The thing is huge. It also functions as a printer.
