Wow that’s a good one! Foxbat, Flanker, Fulcrum, Foxhound, Fishbed and Flogger!? I don’t see a price though. I saw a documentary like 20 years ago that had a little segment on this in it. I want to say it was like $10k twenty years ago.

That one looks pretty cool. At one time it looks like they were offering the typical MiG-29 ride, but also the MiG-23, MiG-25(!), and SU-27. Not to mention a MiG-15 clone. Then their offshoot in S. Africa offered Buccaneer and English Lightning rides! Amazing.
It’ll be fine. It’s already pretty good. Considering what they’re trying to do I don’t find all of it’s little hiccups all that unusual. The difference is, this is the first time that the public has been privy to SOO much information-from start to finish.
Good find.
Yeah my fault. For whatever reason I thought you were talking about the Osprey in general.
He want’s a ride. Not a new career.
Good luck in the U.S. About the only way to get ride in an American fighter is if you’re famous or if it’s good for recruiting.
That’s an absolutely stunning shot. It jumped out at me too.
No matter how hot it’s exhaust is, I don’t think it would be that big of issue, bare minimum, 120-130ft off of the ground. Additionally, I dont get why we/they are even talking about airfield conditions. You can forward deploy the aircraft from a million places without having to worry about it’s exhaust temps. Roads,…
Haha!
You have no clue what you’re talking about. I’m extremely familiar with the A-10, thanks for telling me all about it though. The A-10 has no internal stores therefore what are you going to do? Fill up drop tanks with slurry, firebomb, return to base and load up with more drop tanks? That sounds efficient. On top of…
They obviously have nose gear...
You don’t live in a state with large amounts of forest fires do you? Where do you get the assumption that there isn’t any evidence? What constitutes “evidence”?
Why not use it? Doesn’t do anybody any good sitting in the hangar. Pilots gotta get their hours. Might as well do something productive with it.
Who told you they needed to operate from improved airfields? They’ve done hundreds of air assault operations in Afghanistan, operating from a FARP and deploying troops in the same conditions as those that traditional helicopters experience. The Osprey was specifically built with operating from expeditionary…
You can’t just remove an animal or plant/tree species. It always snowballs into a big problem because of unforeseen circumstances. We’ve done that in the past, all over the country, and as a result everything gets thrown out of balance. Then you screw it up even more trying to fix the symptoms of your original action.
Wait what? Who is “they”? I assume you’re referring to state and federal forestry services? What would they want an A-10 for? That’s ridiculous. Additionally, nobody is “getting” anything. The aircraft still belongs to the Corps/DoD.
“...and the F-35 is a massive piece of shit. I read that somewhere once.”
“As far back as the start of Russia’s aerial combat operations over Syria we noted how shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles would have counterbalanced their airborne might.”
“Why he isn’t working for Defense One or Jane’s is beyond my mortal comprehension.”
