Are you seriously trying to compare the absolute worst of what happens in the US with fucking Daesh?

With you 100%. Also started out as an 11B.

Yeah, I dont pretend to understand British procurement and how and why they do things. Certain things just catch my eye (like axing the super capable ASW Nimrods after all of that work and money invested). Or getting rid of the Harriers prematurely (IMO). I barely have a small handle on the American process.

They’re cut from the same cloth. The difference is, CAG has been much more guarded about what they’re up to (thankfully, i’m growing increasingly disillusioned with the current crop of SEALs). Army JSOC units in general are very quiet. Neither CAG, nor DEVGRU do major hits very often without SOAR (or SWCC) providing

I think it’s all kinds of sexy. Far more so than the Typhoon.

I promise, most Americans that are tied into current events (especially military ones) are well aware that the Brits are, and have been helping.

I served with the unit that is basically CAG and Damneck’s bonafide bodyguards. Yeah they’re obscenely capable, but they’re just normal people. Ever operate out of JBAD? You’ll rub elbows with them everyday in the chow call and gym. JSOC has their own compounds typically, and then Tier 1 units will have their own

JSOC has already been involved for some time. This is, more or less, announcing additional SOCOM assets.

I misread. I thought you were asking if it happened.

You’re thinking like a civilian. Don’t do that. Have you ever worn the uniform? Not asking to try and discredit you. It’s just that militaries around the world, since the beginning of time, deal in absolutes. They lay down SOPs that are followed to the letter. That was the reason for all the warning. They established

Just speaking in generalities without a little bit of homage to Vietnam. Their power base is in the north.

Holy shit. That was quick. I’ve got an entire corps of whiners but have yet to illicit a derogatory user handle.

Did you miss the story about legions of Turkish soccer fans booing when the stadium requested a moment of silence for victims in Paris?

Man that’s awesome. Saved it.

Not to get overly nerdy and pedantic, but a few of those don’t look right.

I don’t disagree. I’d really like to see this end here. Continual escalation is just going to make a super complicated picture even more muddled which will therefore equate to more destabilization and more lives lost.

I never thought I’d see a more complicated fight than what I saw in Iraq with AQI, OMS, various militias based on ideology, additional militias based on age old tribal beefs, and then a spattering of simple criminals trying to settle old scores and capitalize on the lack of stability.

Oh I absolutely agree. Everyone has a dog in this fight. The only difference is varying degrees of importance.

“Especially since, at the point that you’re running a submarine vs. submarine exercise, you’ve already given the opponent the knowledge that there’s a submarine there in the first place. As offensive weapons, that’s their most valuable aspect.”

I don’t disagree. I just don’t believe that comparing Turkish incursions into Greece to be on the same level as Russian incursions into Turkey. The potential ramifications of each action are very different.
