Completely agree. I’ve been very careful, while slamming the R-77, to point out that it’s coming back (in a wide range of variants) and should be far more capable.

Hell yes. The American public (and foreigners) haven’t quite realized that the DoD is very proficient at crying wolf, when they know damn well it’s bullshit, just to solidify additional funding.

Pulling you outta the gray so we can all laugh at your utter ignorance and naiveté.

Stupid and dangerously insecure would be my guess.

What’s this? I don’t recognize the meme.

It’s not all BS propaganda. Russia was, very obviously, focusing the vast, vast majority of their military sorties on the FSA in and around Damascus and central Syria.

None. That’s the entire reason for article 5.

Agreed except your postscript. If such a thing were to happen, NATO would say good luck, and keep doing what it does, sans Turkey. Their strategic location is in no way as important as it was when they were included in 1952.

C’mon man. There’s a massive difference between accidentally straying into an airspace, and leaving immediately when you figure it out, and continual, intentional violations all in the name of seeing how far you can push people.

I hear where you’re coming from but that’s not how things work.

Why do you keep bringing that up? We all saw it the first few times. Don’t spam up the boards.

How’s about we embed Tyler? Nothing crazy, maybe the Green Zone or Qatar? I’ll gladly serve as his PSD. I’m tired of being an analyst. Would love to dust off my boots and get them dusty again ;)

That would be entertaining if you could dig it up?

Just wow. Way to illustrate an utter lack of understanding

It’s inexplicable, but I’ve always really liked the Super Etendard. I think they’re cool!

That’s simply not true. The US isn’t above saying “hey, this program is way over budget” or “this program simply isn’t performing like we hoped”. We also axe programs and tell the world why.

Maybe so, but when it comes to Russian equipment, there isn’t a word in their vocabulary for ‘humility’. Everything they make is “better than NATO” this, that, and everything else. As usual, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Congrat pal. Keep it up. Got my fingers crossed for you. I’ve got a family member that is an Annapolis grad, flies the SHornet, and just finished test pilot school (his old roommate is Wingnut who with my cousin, did the popular ‘Hornet Ball’ vids). If you’d ever like some advice or need someone with a ‘BTDT’ tattoo,

I appreciate it pal. My Dad’s service history really is pretty special for our family. I was never anything special, just trying to fill some big shoes. His connections and background still opened doors for me, thirty-five years later.

I don’t doubt that one bit. Was simply pointing out that statistically, the Alamo family hasn’t been very impressive. Those missiles may have been old, and Russia absolutely has more modern variants, but they also still have a ton of those missiles-that are more or less the same generation-and they still equip their
