Sounds to me like it’s a good reason for giving people tax credits for buying safer vehicles. How many people die per year in car crashes? Even from a business perspective it makes sense to keep more tax paying citizens alive.

Likely because they wanted to use the universe and assets they had already created and build upon it. To create an entirely new brand and assets would be very expensive.
TBH that’s shield hit arc reduction isn’t a nerf for pros, it’s a buff. A skilled brig player can aim the bash more accurately now but before you would hit people unintentionally.
