4 was still a good game. 5 was a horrible disappointment as it seriously lacked interesting play modes. Be always lived the variety of single player content the Soul Calibur games have always had and 5 had none of that

Actually the SEED tests are a perfect example. In my experience most of the time these knowledge skills tests are completely optional but if you complete them they give significant assistance to the rest of your game.

Namco tends to work well with others... they are amazingly cooperative. To the point that if Tekken 7 saw a switch release it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see Link show up. He was in Soul Calibur 2 after all.
