No shit. Union organizing is not easy. Management’s always going to try to pull shady shit. This is not a new story. Software development is not some super special type of labor that’s impossible to organize. Do it, or don’t do it. But don’t whine because you didn’t do it and other people did.

That’s probably the most pathetically lazy excuse for not organizing a workforce in the history of the labor movement. If every labor movement stopped because someone reminded them that “our boss can just find naive people straight out of college to replace us!” than we’d all be working 80hr weeks with no overtime and

...

They should form a union.

Cool story.

He was his own product.

His legacy is great because he was good at marketing. That’s what marketing is. The manufacture of positive legacies. Your opinion of him is terrible. You hold a “terrible opinion” of Steve Jobs. But it doesn’t matter, because he was so good at marketing. He created a world where you and your opinion don’t matter.

Settle down, Francis.

Internet is full of suckers. What can I say?

Nothing will make “comments like his go away”. The internet’s been doing this since like ‘78. Just roll with it and don’t get huffy about it. You’ll have a much better time. Thread-taming is a sucker’s game. I don’t make the rules. I’m just trying to explain them.

That’s why the initial comment is so bad and deserves the knee-jerk scorn it gets. It’s a de-railer and a dead end. It begs for STFUs and STFUs is what it gets. Vague, boring disdain is the real bad trend. The subsequent pile-on is just a symptom.

Nobody’s saying you can’t say something negative. But if you do, it should be interesting, original, and or witty. It’s called “adding something to a conversation” and if you fail at it that you’re going to get called out for being a shitty conversationalist. Dude’s too lazy to even offer a bad pun or an animated gif

Let’s find out. Where can we get stats?

Skateboards aren’t silent.

I’m hungry.

Really bad for whom?

How many people in Baltimore have been killed or maimed by dirt bikes?

How much do you think skateboards cost? More than dirt bikes?
