When I went to public school in Pennsylvania in the early 90's they switched to plastic bags of milk at lunch. They had to teach us all how to stab them properly in the bubble with your thumb on the straw so it doesn’t gush out like an oil well. At the time they told us it was cheaper and easier to store than…
The Paul Allen thing fucked me up. I don’t even know what’s real anymore.
I was referring to the topic of this article, people who give Dr. D free money. I’ve been pretty transparent about my ignorance about Twitch. So when you spit lingo like “$5 for a sub” that sounds to us olds like a subcription costs $5.
Wait, you have to pay to subscribe and comment? If I go to Dr. D’s channel right now, I can’t subscribe for free? And what is a subscription, besides email notifications?
No. You can’t easily spot the difference. That’s the point. 16 year olds and 18 year olds both look like 14 year olds so you should verify at least before proceeding.
This is ridiculous. You shouldn’t be able to boil down a quarterback’s ability and performance to single number. The Madden folks should make you read an essay about what they like and don’t like about different players and try to communicate their specific subjective experience of what it feels like to play football…
“If she felt it was such a death trap, she should have mentioned it to any one of a number of people who would be responsible for it.” She did. She said “No. I don’t want to do it.” and the responsible people said “It’s fine. It is safe.” and then she did it and it wasn’t safe. I think the responsible people are…
I see where you coming from and I’m willing to entertain the argument, but “wider public” is doing a lot of work in this. How wide? Which public?
Shit happens. The fucking Space Shuttle blew up for chrissakes. Teslas catch fire. There is no funding model or budget allocation that will make everything work all the time forever. You expected correctly. This kind of issue was the LEAST likely to happen. It was yesterday, and it will be tomorrow. Why this happened,…
Location. Location. Location.
POTUS’s ticker was for donations to a political campaign. Vanity donations are understandable and have been around for 1000s of years, but there’s usually a real thing associated with. You get the name in the credits....of a game that did not exist before you gave the money to make it (you get the game too). You put…
I don’t think “mistake” means what you think it means.
The insane part is that people use their credit cards to give popular entertainers cash money for nothing more than a shoutout. It’s like if you went to a Taylor Swift concert and everyone in the front row was throwing cash at the stage. It’s weird and new behavior.
I’m curious, has anyone ever given cash money to a Twitch streamer? As an old-fogey, I’ve only recently been able to wrap my head around the idea of streamers being able to attract an audience and sell advertisements and make a living. But Twitch donations are just glorified panhandling, right? Not like a Kickstarter…
You’re so cloooooose! Instead of “goes both ways”, try “two sides of the same coin” and see if that helps.
Bad rhetoric!
Can someone please fix the commas in that number. That seems like a legit OCD trigger.
Would Destiny 2 adding a Battle Royale mode count as a “PUBG Clone”?
