Seems that pro sports leagues are okay with adding games to the pre or post-season, but that the regular season has some institutional inertia. I don’t think it’s about an economic question. If more games = more $ for owners, they’d be pushing to tack on extra games every CBA, no?

There must be a sweet spot on the spreadsheet where cutting games is offset by increased viewership and higher CPMs for radio/TV ads. If not 6-8, maybe it’s 3-5.
