I'd agree with you if portability was an option for today's best RPGs, and not a requirement, but it's not (yet). Hopefully the PS Vita TV will make it to the US. It would make a huge difference to me.

I think it's more like Apple protecting Apple. Apple wants you to buy a Droid if you're looking for the app equivalent of Miley Cyrus. Apple lacks variety and freedom, but for better or worse has retained a certain amount of quality control.

This is exactly the kind of video game that should be made into a movie. I think it's better to hopefully make a great movie from a mediocre game, than it is to make a mediocre movie from a great game. Crap game: only way to go is up. Every other game adaptation is from peoples' favorites. How well has that gone?
