From what I understand, the tumor didn’t show up on a scan. It may not have been large enough to. So they had no indication that she had any sort of cancer before the procedure. It was only found when the removed tissue was examined under a microscope.

This is tragic, and while I can see the necessity of having morcelliation, there has to be a way to prevent this type of thing from happening. And it doesn’t just happen with uterine morcelliations.
