I believe many fire department started that campaign so that people always had working detectors. What happens many times is that you plan on purchasing a new battery, but disconnect the detector until you get one. Then people forget that their detector is powerless and useless until their home burns down. Better

+1 for the lithium powered detectors. It also solves the dying battery siren that beeps every 5 seconds and drives you mad because you can’t find the replacement 9V you purchased.

And yet (I hate to say it), he may be the best person to deal with NK.

I think it’s more a reminder that what happens in vitro does not always translate well to in vivo, and that the non-scientific media can blow things out of proportion.

Actually, it is dishonest on the part of the company. There is no such thing as Sodium Coco Sulfate, chemically speaking. What they call SCS is actually a mixture of other chemicals, including at lot of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).

I got dinged on my NYS driving test for this. To be fair, the tester was an asshole. I pulled halfway into the (extremely busy) intersection to make the left turn, like you should do. Well, because of all the traffic, the light turned red before there was a break in the line of cars which would allow me to complete

Don’t forget Steve: the unusual light show that is currently puzzling scientists. They needed a name so they called it “Steve”.

+1!

From what I understand, the tumor didn’t show up on a scan. It may not have been large enough to. So they had no indication that she had any sort of cancer before the procedure. It was only found when the removed tissue was examined under a microscope.

This is tragic, and while I can see the necessity of having morcelliation, there has to be a way to prevent this type of thing from happening. And it doesn’t just happen with uterine morcelliations.

I get about the same amount since my company lumped all our vacation, sick, and personal days together. We can’t carry more than 8 weeks before it spills into a “catastrophe bank” (long story). So I take every minute too! It’s amazing, right?

As much as I like Pope Francis (we needed someone like him), that picture of them shaking hands looks like a meeting of the mob bosses.

Being an perpetual allergy sufferer (pollen, mold, dust, dander, etc) for many years, I have hit upon a combination that works for me:

Totally this! About a decade ago, one of the major health insurances wanted to stop covering the anesthesia usually given for colonoscopies. A major doctor’s group successfully argued that without the option, less people would get their tests which would lead to more severe cancer diagnoses. Higher stage cancers

Exactly! My father passed away when I was 10 and he was 42. Once I hit 21, I started going for colonoscopies every 4 years. After my grandfather (his father) passed from stomach cancer, an endoscopy has been added as well.

Most companies are $20 per 2-person meal, or $10 a person. Which is easy to hit even at a fast food place.

I second Home Chef. I like that there are more choices (about 10 meals per week) and more gluten-free choices. Just finished the chicken with tomato-oregano cream for lunch.

For more about the shit-show that was Hanford and it’s Soviet counterpart, read Plutopia by Kate Brown. I would be scared out of my mind if I lived in the area.

Admiral for Senate!

Traffic circles are so much easier in places where the people know how to use them correctly. There are times where I actually miss them (but only a little bit).
