When cooked correctly, they have the texture of a waxy potato, slightly sweet (if I remember correctly). They are delicious, but woe to the person who eats them undercooked.

My good boy James approves of Bostons in government ;)

Trust me, the White House will be getting a monthly security bill to cover the costs. DiBlasio will make sure NYC gets reimbursed.

If you are going to try them, cook them very well. Cook them, then cook them again. If you think they are done, cook them a few minutes longer. While they can be tasty, the pain you get from eating under-cooked sunchokes is not something you want to experience.

I bet the only pill he takes religiously is the little blue one.

OOO! Let me try this alternative fact thing....

Definitely grabbing himself as male primates do when they are trying to assert dominance. Either that or he’s extremely constipated.

What I would GIVE for 9 hours!

I can barely watch the trailers without tearing up. I know there is no way in hell that I am ever going to see this movie.

Actually, the appropriate response would be, “Not yet.”

That was my response too.

This is the exact reason why I voted for her. People think that the President has a lot of influence on the running of the US government, but as we have seen with the multiple shutdowns, it’s not entirely the case.

While it focuses mostly on the practice of polygamy (or “celestial marriage” as it’s called), it’s also a criticism of Mormonism from someone who grew up in the very, very early church (she was born a few months after Joseph Smith

*hugs*

My mother got one as a rental once. I drove it all of 50 feet from the street into the driveway, and refused to get behind the wheel every again. It was like driving a coffin.

That’s the first thing I thought of. Did the series get greenlighted? The pilot was very good and I thought Ricci did a nice job as Zelda (though I know next to nothing about Zelda, so she could have played the part completely wrong).

It’s really simple, though the ingredients are a little hard to find: one bag of Odlum’s Irish Farmhouse Brown Bread Mix, plus what ever else the bag called for.

*Drool!* I love Kerrygold! Back when I could eat wheat, I would make Irish brown bread and slather it with Kerrygold. If I let myself, I could eat an entire loaf in one sitting. Not a huge fan of it for buttered pasta (again, when I could eat it), but coldish and slathered on a bread was divine!
