Huh, that's pretty fascinating. Thanks for sharing.

There are plenty of authors who are not happy with this. The thought among this crowd is that it's better to have a weak layer of protection than none at all. It's almost a willful misunderstanding of DRM's impact, I think. I also think that those authors who would prefer to keep their DRM probably don't use

I attended a panel at Romantic Times where Sarah Zettle spoke about Dust Girl. It sounded amazing and I really can't wait to read it. Just listening to her talk about her world building made me want to have the book immediately if not sooner.

I loved her Inheritance trilogy and this duology is in my TBR pile for sure. I love her world building and how she can go from a grand, epic tale in one book to an intimate, deeply personal story in the next and maintain the feel of the world and the quality of the writing.

Ew, no! Carter and Jack! It is my OTP, and is actually the reason I even know that term.

I would have said, "Unsurprising." But then, I'm a big geek who has followed them from the beginning.

I'm surprised the McKay/Keller romance wasn't on here from Stargate: Atlantis. It's one of my favorite romances in science fiction but most people just can't seem to believe she didn't go for Ronon.

That was delightfully strange.

Haha, you have just added the word 'fanon' to my lexicon of geekery. That is awesome. I learn so much cool stuff from you.

Hearted.

Yeah, pretty sure a booty call is an insignificant other. ;)

Even if all that exists, the issue will still be whether everyone has access to it - that's the issue right now, today. I've always bought into the idea of Star Trek technology but never the idea of Star Trek politics or culture. We'll never be that enlightened, not and still have the ambition to explore the galaxy.

What she's saying is that when a right-wing pundit says 'pro-choice' he means 'hell-bound baby-killer' and gives it that emphasis with the sneer in his voice.

You're a genius. I get such great fashion type tips from this site. It's awesome.

Nothing says right-wing like San Francisco, for sure.

Mine do last a month, but I'm sneaky about it. Someone on Jezebel suggested getting a french manicure so that when they grow out, it isn't as noticeable. I just had mine taken off after 5 weeks and it was only then starting to look the tiniest bit worn.

Honestly, I'd give that badge to Anne Rice. Interview with the Vampire strikes me as the spark that lit the flame.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME? I pretty much need everything on both of those sites.

Hot and so, so fucking rare.
