I'm pretty sure this is how Kelis-Amberlee started.

I'm fine with pedaling faster to keep up with a complex plot. I am not fine with being unable to understand what a character is saying. Those two things are not even in the same galaxy. One is an intellect thing, the other is just poorly done work.

Yes! I agree. I used that on a conference call the other day for the big laughs.

I saw the John Carter (OF MARS!) trailer at the IMAX theatre yesterday and it was beautiful. I had no interest in it other than as something that was mentioned in a Heinlein novel. Now, I'm anxious to see it.

I'm female and I had always just found babies to be ugly little lizards. When I turned 28, something clicked on internally, and every baby I saw was the most adorable, sweetest little baby ever and I just slobbered all over them. It was a physical response. Like when you see kittens snuggling and kind of feel warm

I didn't see it until you mentioned it but that baby's cuteness just went off the charts.

Hmm, he's creepy, but it's the stingery scorpions that scare me. No tail? He's just a civilian.

Augh! Nightmare fuel.

Yes! Thank you!

Gah, I tried to find a picture of that spider from Madagascar who's all, "Well, howdy'do!" but the Internet failed me. :(

Your fiance and I read the same review!

Actually, everybody expects them all the time, I think.

Wow. I had no idea about the process of such a thing. How fascinating. Thanks for sharing the steps that go into something like this. It's as much about meticulous research and craftsmanship as it is about artistic talent, it seems.

Well played, sir.

I knew I'd get somebody with that. ;)

It's always in the last place you look, man.

On a tangent: I hopped over to Rotten Tomatoes to check the ratings on Mission Impossible and early reviews are absolutely glowing. How very odd. Cool, but odd for an action movie.

I, uh, sort of judged it by its title, concept and cast. The poster looks a lot better than any of that. ;)

This video is excellent.

I have learned a great deal in this thread even about series that I've read. Lots of people commenting on the deeper theory behind various magic systems, the how and why of how things work in various worlds, heard a lot about books I haven't read but clearly should.
