They make it sufficiently easy that mass killings are realistically possible. Without them it is very hard. Logically then, reducing the number of firearms will reduce the number of mass killings.

It simply isn’t true that for prison to be an effective deterrent, the conditions inside need to be harsh. Laws which prevent people who are inclined to “go postal” from having easy access to firearms. Like they have in all those countries in which mass shootings aren’t a near daily occurrence.
