How is Carrie the film a good adaptation when the ending is pretty starkly different then the books?

I didn't see anyone mention this one yet.

I just rewatched Grave Encounters last night, and man does it hold up, especially for something that looks and sounds (at first) like a budget bin Paranormal Activity clone.

If you haven't already, check out Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil. Hilarious, gory, and all-around awesome.
