I volunteer at a very high end car museum. We don’t have velvet ropes around any cars. We only have a few rules. One of them is DON’T TOUCH THE CARS. And we tell everyone that when they arrive. We have one-of-a-kind UNrestored cars 30 to 120 years old. Some whose paint is barely still attached.

Denise was ALL THAT and a bag of lug nuts! Great writer and racer. A credit to the term “Motorsports Journalist.

The 1935 Duesenberg already sold... not for $10 million, but $20 Million!

Wesley passed his urine test and likely still can. Unemployed truckers can’t or won’t pass theirs. Give up weed and you, too, could make 6 figures driving a semi.  That’s part of the reason for the shortage of drivers.

Have you ever rebuilt a transmission? Don’t call BS if you haven’t touched the inside of manual trans and seen how it works. Resting your hand on the shift lever is as bad as resting your foot on the clutch. Either problem, the trans has to come out.

It is definitely a problem. It will wear out the synchronizers in short order. Don’t rest your hand on the shifter!

How do you figure that? Taxis, Uber, and buses are available even in smaller cities. I’d like some stats, please.

Camber adjustment bolts. Getting a bit more (or a crap-ton more) negative camber at the front of a rear drive car helps handling a ton by reducing understeer on strut equipped cars.

The 85 mph speedometer was a law... A safety law 'cause no one needs to know they are driving faster than 85.

Hate to be a buzz-kill but Time Speed Distance (TSD)Rallying is not a “race” It IS competition, but it is not a race. These folks are more than fit enough for a TSD rally.

Changing the brake fluid.... the most neglected fluid in ANY car registered and serviced in the US.

Racing is a SPORT, Basketball is a GAME.

And flame resistant undies add maybe 9-11 more seconds... sobering thoughts!

For you non-racers out there... sanctioning bodies can and do require fire-resistant underwear. Each has a little different rule set - long underpants and long sleeve undershirt, sometimes short is OK. Years ago, 3 layer SFI-5 suits in the SCCA eliminated the need to wear fireproof underwear. Single layer SFI1 suits

The irony of using frozen CO2 to cool an EV built to reduce CO2 emissions is absolutely hilarious.

Said Miguel’s technically illiterate supervisor......

Thanks, you did it for us! Have a Happy Day!

Ohhh Noooo Miguel does NOT have job security!

Yes, both can be true but the author applied it to an article that is clearly about the weather. Hell, this isn’t even a record temp for Chicago. That record would be 105 degrees in July, 1934.

Tight? Lower than 4% unemployment is “tight”? Help wanted signs ALL over where I live.
