Climate change is real, everyone

Wow, typical Corvette owner history. Buyer 1 - barely drives it because, to him, owning a Corvette is better than driving one. Buyer 2 - Drives it all the time because its the only car he has. Buyer 3 - Buys it to mod it and drive the crap out of the car.

Tough to find qualified skilled or educated workers that can pass a urine (drug) test as well.

Well, with a 3.8% unemployment rate and a greater shortage of your skill-set, finding a new job should be very easy.

How sweet of you! Do you greet them as they burst through your side window glass?

I disagree. Vehicles are nothing but hunting tools, like claws or a spear, controlled by the meatbag behind the wheel. The clueless pedestrian is an evolutionary dead end as it were, if they can’t look before crossing the street. The meatbag in the car is the predator that culls the clueless pedestrian from the herd.

I can hear the tire noise very easily on an EV when riding my bicycle. I can hear tire noise far earlier on many other very quiet brands more than engine noise.

Sure there are ways to import cars newer than 25 years in the race or display category but these cars I saw had actual Florida plates. Now they could be “borrowed” from their street car..... No one would do that, right?? LOL!

When I moved to Florida from another state, the lady at the Tax Collector’s office - that’s what they call title and registration offices - actually physically checked the VIN on my cargo trailer when I registered it, as well as all my cars.

To all you NYC folks on the Jalopnik staff;

If your initial post hadn’t such sweeping all-or-nothing, I wouldn’t have commented at all. Sure made your knee jerk hard, didn’t it?

Wow, quite the prejudicial asshat aren’t you? I didn’t say global warming isn’t real, didn’t say anything of the sort. You just assumed that by my correct comment that the EPA’s definition of CO2 is all about control over global warming. You just assumed that from my comment.

developed countries COMBINED, and yet we still have more gun deaths per capita than any developed nation in the world.

There is no difference. But if we add a tax on miles driven we WILL conveniently forget to remove the fuel tax (NO, that would NEVER happen) and drivers will get double taxed on every mile driven. Except EV drivers, they get single taxed.

ALL cars and trucks sold have been heavily regulated for emissions for decades. They run very very cleanly for a decade. If people maintain them (get them fixed when the check engine light comes on!) they will be clean for another decade.

Buy and SUV so you, too, can see over all those cars in front of you. That is why so many people.have been buying these baby utes, mommy utes and big ass daddy utes. You see the problem with the progression....

Good article..

The only good thing to say about the Daimler take-over (the Chrysler was silent in Daimler Chrysler) was the quality improved in those years. Not to industry leading but better than it had been. Now, FCA’s quality shines like a buffalo turd in a deep dark cave. That Fiat Brava from 1908 is looking pretty good by

Wear is caused by heat and friction. I think the idea is short, fast stabs prevents a buildup of heat and thus reduces wear on the rotors or glazing on the pads. Would need #science to test this though.

For anyone brought up in an era of manual steering cars with about 5 turns lock to lock, this is completely normal. Any car’s suspension is designed to self center the steering wheel. Power steering cars add a bit of drag in the system that slows this down, sometimes a bit too much.
