The zipper merge is a concept when traffic is slower. The rest of the time, 1) use the on ramp to accelerate to highway speeds, 2) Check your mirrors and LOOK for a spot into which to merge 3) use your turn signal and 4) understand that merging traffic DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY!!!!
