So?? You actually made my point. Raise the gas tax to cover the loss, don’t hang a GPS device in my car to track my miles.

You can’t sunset the tax. The roads will need to be renewed in 20 years.
I am willing to give electics and PEVs a pass until the percentage of them reaches double digits (10%) on the road
Pressure at the surface is not the load that causes damage. Total axle weight does. Cracks the foundation causing the road to be completely replaced as opposed to recapped with asphalt.
Yup, there’s a little bit of Arkansas in every country....
Tell me how much damage you think those itty bitty little hybrids are doing to the roads? Very, very little. Medium duty and larger - i.e. Semis - do more damage in one trip that 10 dozen hybrids. Which pays more per mile? Why the big trucks because they use more gas. We already pay road use taxes per mile traveled…
From Consumer Reports on the engine;
Yeah, I know about automotive regs for the US vs EU. I was an automotive engineer for 27 years. French cars used to be sold in the US but people stopped buying them because they were less reliable than American cars at that point - which was really bad. They were also ugly and weird. They are no longer ugly but they…
If French cars were more reliable, they’d still be sold in the US, in my opinion.
Ok, the world gets pretty PSA designs with Opel reliability...
My 07 and 13 Mustangs had the filler on the left (driver’s side) as does my Chevy truck.
Cheap-ass people expecting me to work on their rusty, shitty, neglected cars for a 6 pack of cheap-piss-water beers and their “brilliant” and useless company while I work.
At least he can get service and parts for a Colorado he brings over.
Did a similar thing for a team running a class for slightly modified FWD cars. Ride height limit checked pre-race only. The front struts had remote reservoirs placed in the passenger compartment gas-charged to about 120 psi to raise the car 1.5-2 inches. Pop the gas charge down to 20 psi for the race, goodbye, ride…
There is LOTS of “monkey-see, monkey-do” in racing! Aluminum weights!
what will be Ghosn’s lasting legacy at Nissan and Renault?
Yes, Yes, they are pimps turnin’ out their hoes....
Renting your performance car to some shmuck off the internet is pretty much like pimping out your wife for a bare-back orgy to that same shmuck... and few of his friends... and maybe an animal or 2.
Easy solution.... let them die. Seat belt use is an automatic DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) Cruel, but irresponsibility often is.
