Do both. Use uninsulated crimp terminals, crimp, solder, heat shrink.Don’t flow more solder than needed to wet the crimped area. In other words, don’t flow it up the wire itself. THIS is what kills soldered connections under vibration in race cars. Makes a strong, corrosion resistant joint.
