Sure it was, maybe, possibly, but realistically how much of that 4 million was actually used purely for game development and not say, taxes, marketing, fee’s paid to ks, payments not made, ports to other platforms, etc? This was a collaborative effort of several Professionals also, not some guy’s working in the garage.

Except he wasn’t. He’s taking about a 2D game with HD sprites. Even the 7 day tech demo that appeared during the campaign looked closer to that concept art than the retail release.

the most important thing to remember about Dust is that not only was the budget really small but it was also made entirely by one guy over the course of three and a half years.

Why does everyone keep harping on the “Millions” of dollars he got during the kickstarter? Everyone acts like he got some insane amount of cash and that 4 million is some complete insane amount of money for publishing a game.

“They could have done it (quicker) and better had they just gone for sprites.”

This guy was right.

Not all at once anyway. I believe the platform release for Dust went Xbox > PC/Mac > PS4 over the span of a few years. Would be interesting to see total development costs over the course of the IP.

I think it’s probably unfair to ascribe those motives to Mr. Inafune, but I see what you’re saying now about IGA, I think. You’re saying he was more heavily involved in the design of those games, and he is not reinventing the wheel when it comes to the fundamental tenets of those games. Is that correct?

Bloodstained is being led by IGA, who did every post SotN castlevania. It’ll be okay since he knows what he’s doing. I mean all he has really done is copy and paste sprites. I watch gameplay and wonder how Konami hasn’t sued.

The single issue I have with MN9 is that the graphics Tried to maintain the illusion of a SNES MM game. They could have done it (quicker) and better had they just gone for sprites.

I dunno man, you remove enough tumours and sometimes the cancer goes away.

If I had to take a honest guess?

I guess that’s a Catch 22. If you’re smart enough to know your world view is royally backwards you probably wouldn’t have that view in the first place.

Easy, this way they just pulled attention to their shitty game by insulting people, wich create bad advertising for a game that hardly would have generated an article on kotaku. But at the end of the day there is no “bad” advertising, only opportunity.

For sure. I mean in the ideal world, nobody would have negative reactions at all to someone’s gender or sexuality. Since we aren’t there yet, you would think most people would at least learn not to stuff their own head so far up their own ass...

At first glance I read that image as “Project Caucasians”. I was so upset for a split second, lol.

Wow... I can’t understand how anybody could think that’s an interaction that isn’t coming right back to bite them in the ass.
