Yup, the dealer knows what they have

Uhhh, I have a 2017 Tacoma with the V6. I’ll have to assume it’s a good power plant when it’s in the IS or Avalon, because it is pretty garbage in the Tacoma. No low end power at all and it’s paired to a transmission that only wants to keep you in the low end (unless it’s continually hunting around between 4/5/6 gears

Just go buy a new Camry already and be happy with another trouble-free 15 years.

Anyone want to place the following bets:

I drive past that Costco in Madison Heights on my commute from my VERY ESSENTIAL! job. The set up for the entire property is strange, as the Costco is set off from both main roads (13 Mile and Stevenson). It being the only Costco along 75 between downtown and Auburn Hills, it gets a lot of commuter traffic as it is.

My bi-weekly shopping excursions have me averaging just under 2 miles per day.  It’s 13 miles to get to Meijer.  26 miles every 14 days.

My rule of thumb: Car dealers, of any kind, are never looking out for your best interest. Ever. They’ll do whatever they can to pad their profit margin. Those commenters here who claim they’re great and love their customers and would never do such a thing lie.

My observation: used car prices down about 5%. New car prices are no different than they have been. Dealers are in the denial stage...”I know what I have”. Deferred payments?  70+ month 0% financing?  Puh-lease.  It seems it will take a few more months of no sales for them to reach acceptance.

This is why I switched to vans as a work vehicle. Unless you’re carrying really tall cargo, do outside work where you basically need a big open mobile toolbox or, since BOF vans are dead except for GM, need to tow very heavy things, a van is the proper answer. Although on my next one I’ll probably go for an Express

Even though I went with NP, I agree with you in regards to the two doors. I have no idea why people fetishize the the regular cab so much.

I just got over the “fun” of owning a basic pickup.

Nope! And I say that as someone who has owned multiple pickups for the past 30 years. A pickup is for hauling things, and a 2-door like this sucks in that mission, because virtually everything ends up in the truck bed, exposed to weather and theft.

Move out of state?

Not to mention that the pricing with incentives on pickups often puts them at a competitive price with other lesser models. Like when you see an ad for a $149/mo Trax lease next to a $179/mo Silverado lease, is there even a second thought? The pickups are also the among the best overall vehicles that the Big 3 build,

It’s a good gift card though, very functional for the buyer and has the highest resale in any other segment.

“Either sheepish Americans just can’t imagine a life without their trucks as normal, or frightful Americans expect that the world at large will collapse and their leather-lined F-150 will help them ride out the apocalypse.”

3. Okay Boomer

Guaranteed it’s a non turbo variant of the 3.5L V6 paired with hybrid systems. Which means I don’t think 400hp is going to be the number. Probably mid to low 300s. Torque should be good though, with the electric assist. I don’t think this truck is going to be about power numbers, it’s going to be about MPG above all.

Not to rub salt in the wound, but maybe y’all ought to read your own articles about Hellcats and Detroit a little more:

Thirty five to sixty is not their current demo, though, is it? Doesn’t it start at maybe 55 and then go up from there?
