just shut up. You weren’t going to buy one anyways. Everybody on Jalopnik talks about how they would buy a brand new car, but only if the automakers sold it with their specific options, and then they use that as excuse to not buy a car they weren’t actually going to buy in the first place.

Automatics have been beating manuals on efficiency for a while now. This isnt 2005 anymore. Hell autos have been able to beat manuals in acceleration for a while now too. Even my Redline Sky had a slower manual than auto.

Eh, Cleetus Mcfarland is 6'6 and didn’t seem to have an issue. Said he had more leg room and better headroom than the C7.

Another reviewer (Cleetus McFarland) is something like 6'6" and says he fits much pretty well in the C8; even more so compared to the C7, but not quite as well as the C6.

Exactly.  This is just people trying to make news where there is none.  Where would they suggest Tesla find an empty plot of land?  Buy a farm?  Then we’d get stories of how they’ve displaced poor farmers and are part of “big farm” out to kill farm-to-table health food chains and eventually you.

I mean, Musk is right; a monoculture grove of trees planted to be harvested as cardboard stock isn’t the same as bulldozing the Amazon. This isn’t old-growth forest. How many times has Volkswagen cleared trees to build a factory without a peep from anybody?

Wagon good crossover bad we get it.

And then he’d offer the LONG version if needed.

I’ll give you that, sometimes; but I know plenty on the other side too. Also, I know the engine is technically made with a supercharger in mind, but it wasn’t OEM and likely voided warranty if done while still on warranty. You always have to take non-OEM “upgrades” with grain of salt.

While that can seem better on the surface, it also begs the question of how much more did the guy thrash the truck because he also had a supercharger on it?

Havent seen many police using them. But government agencies? Oh yeah.

Why would I buy a clone of a BMW when I could just buy the BMW? Its not like Cadillac has bad powertrain or chassis design, they’re world class in both.

For sure, that’s a deal but you also have to factor the maintenance cost of these high end sedans if you keep them for a long time. This is the reason why people lease. This is the price of “No Hassle”. Very often, these are company cars or pay buy car allowances.

I held out till about 2016. Then gave up on my daily.

Honestly I’m not sad at all about this.  It’s actually encouraging to me that so many EVs are being sold.

I held out till about 2016. Then gave up on my daily.  My old Jeep is still a stick shift and I love driving it, but sitting in traffic on the daily I’d rather be lazy.

Very true. But cars like a rav4 hybrid start with 600 miles of range. Lose 25% and you've still got 450 miles and a 80 second refuel.

The first fully charged pull does not matter that much I agree. The issue is that the 5th pull is over 6 seconds on the Tesla and still under 3 on the Porsche. This means that as you go about your day of driving your ability to merge, overtake and calculate distances is different while still being in the same car. I

Post Mullaly Ford is a case study in executive incompetence. I’m not sure if its more amazing that he was able to make an impact so fast, or that they squandered it so fast after his retirement.

That will leave GM as the only major ‘American’ based car manufacturer, which will be the saddest commentary of all on what has happened with manufacturing in America.
