Some phones (eg: the Galaxy Nexus) have pogo pins that can be accessed under the battery cover and you can solder the induction coil onto them in lieu of using the phone’s charger port. Don't count on being able to do this with an iPhone, though... lol

So, I agree that using up your RAM is a good thing, however, I recently had to upgrade my Chromebook to double the amount of RAM it had, taking it from 2 GB to 4 GB. Before doing so, and the reason for the upgrade, I found that even with only a small handful of tabs and extensions running, Chrome would get to a point

Black snot is much more likely if you've been out working with mulch or doing a lot of bench grinding... The very fine particles are inhaled quite easily, but your snot does its job and catches most of it so it doesn't reach your lungs!

Beam me up Scotty*

typo in the to-do list section: you say "two-do"

And FYI, REI has the Leatherman Wave for $67

Haha! I was totally screaming that in my head: "Don't scribe with your caliper!"

Uggghh... I've found like 10 of those alone... they seem to be all over the world!

But, this isn't true. I'm married to one who's not always so.

I'm currently trying to get Lifehacker to feature it... feel free to help out by messaging them!

I can't find anywhere on Lifehacker where they recommend Gravity Screen! This is a crying shame because the app is AMAZING and does it's job very well with relatively minimal battery consumption! The free version does everything you need out of the app, but this didn't stop me from purchasing the pro version in order

The strip along the bottom takes you to the more detailed sections, like the week-long forecast, the super-customizable radar map, lifestyle information, and even a weather camera. It has everythign you could possibly need, right there, without cluttering up the screen with useless junk.

Weatherbug has everything you need, in an easy-to-read and easy-to-find layout. Your home page has tons of information about the current conditions (focusing on the stuff you actually wan to know), as well as the day's forecast and a quick look at the next few days. You can tap on any of the items for more detail on

*Shortcuts Menu, not Widget menu (at least, that's for Apex Launcher on a Nexus 4 running 4.4.2)

Asking my phone to "beam me up" was, by far, the highlight of my day :D

I have found this $16 Ikea bag to be VERY useful when making a weekend/small trip out of town. It has a lot of compartments and, with little straps like Adam showed in his preferred bag, you can open this bag while it is still hanging from you (say, while in the airport security line) and not have the top swing all

If you don't have a hackerspace near you, check with your local vocational schools, community colleges, or universities. Here in Washington DC, the Martin Luther King, Jr Memorial Library just added a 3D printer that anyone can use as part of its Digital Commons project. Even if such a thing is unheard of where you

Um, let's see... what happened to me could happen to you. I just tried it and now Chrome doesn't load any pages and all my extensions crashed on start up. Can't even go to the flags page to disable it. I'm pretty much screwed for the moment. I'll probably have to go to another browser and download and reinstall

I just got super lucky and scored this spacious, compartmentalized, and high-quality desk at the Habitat for Humanity's Restore for $30. I didn't go in there to find a desk, but I did and the price was right. So, I say, if saving money is your game (and you don't have the means to make your own desk), patiently

@Whitson Gordon mentioned that the Facebook app used so many permissions. Guess what you guys just talked about: 4.3 added that ability to selectively disable those permissions. In other words, no reason to disapprove of Facebook's permissions if you can now disable them at your leisure. Also, now that I'm rocking
