Well, they’re facing a car custom built to beat them. I doubt any big changes happen unless this becomes a trend.

This is me. I couldn’t be happier!
I’m glad to see Ford win but I find it hard to believe that the engine was that responsible. I’m sure there were many other components that were equally responsible.

Eighteen months ago the automotive world was filled with skepticism over rumors that Ford would resurrect the…
No. The race was not created to punish those with unavoidable issues. Toyota did everything perfect, only to have it snatched away by pure, dumb luck- especially tortuous considering they have never won Le Mans despite having the best car multiple times before. That is NOT why it was created.
I love the Ford GT program, but I'm friends with some of the Ferrari Houston guys. They put in the work. The lights penalty is BS because the other cars weren't penalized for the same thing.
lol got something to tell ya... they won on the 50th.. the team did what they were created to do. not to mention the BoP that will smack them.
I don’t care about anything but the fact that the Ford GTs finished 1,3,4,9! Tough night for Corvette, and a scary look at their future.
You can’t win a race in the first lap, but you sure as hell can lose a race on the last lap.
And that’s why it’s not the 23 hour, 55 minutes of Le Mans.
Corvettes do get excellent gas mileage for V8 sports cars, no doubt. Of course, a higher price tag, no back seat, a more aerodynamic profile and lighter more expensive materials will usually do that. Ford does need to give the Mustang a bit of a diet on the next generation redesign, though. I love my car, but in 2016…
Ding ding ding. Trap speeds are all in the same ballpark. This is a non-story (and I really don’t care for Mustangs).
I own one. At 70 it turns 2300 RPM. It’s quiet and comfortable, and just today I saw 35 MPG doing 70 for about 30 miles with two passengers
How come there is no discussion about the fuel being used? or altitude of where these tests have taken place? Heat soak? The nut behind the wheel?
The car is not any slower given the exact same trap speeds in the 1/4 mile and the same acceleration apart from their poor shifting with the newer car which is causing it to pull back a bit. Note it’s only Motor Trend that have claimed the car is slower, why should Ford respond to something that isn’t really an issue?
How common is it for manufactures to have special tunes (“different calibration”) for media testing?
notoriously rust prone aluminum
If only there was some way of protecting the painted metal surface of your truck bed! They could use some sort of plastic and corrugate the bottom to absorb impact. I just don’t know what I’d call such a thing.
Pretty much anybody who has a truck who will be abusing their bed like this will have a bedliner, regardless of the material the bed is made out of.
