Sounds like the developers were just too lazy to implement consequences for the players’ actions which fit the setting. Instead they have a designer give one of the cheapest responses I’ve ever seen about “role-playing” as though the entire point of role playing wasn’t that your choices have consequences.

From what I’ve seen it has differed pretty substantially from person to person, but in my experience it’s not nearly as bad as people think, at least those who haven’t played the game. Texture pop-in, framerate drops, camera clipping, sure, but that’s about it. There was one time I got on the wrong side of an
