1) Do you play tutorials if they’re offered?

That’s fair that a downgrade in graphics may not be a compromise they wanted. Though I was suggesting a different colored wood and not necessarily fussing with the lighting. If you followed the RE4HD project, it was interesting to see the challenges that team had to overcome to retroactively “fix” some of the lighting

First, thank you for your point of view from a developer. Interesting that you point out attention while a gamer is distracted.

Regarding shelf space, one of my issues is that I like to have the cards sleeved. So a deck of cards with tight box (e.g., Hero Realms or Fluxx) becomes an empty box plus a plastic bag with sleeved cards + paper manual.

That’s pretty awesome. My favorite part? The photo of Ashley.

After playing the RE4 Chainsaw demo (didn’t get past chainsaw guy or live long enough for the bells to toll), I think it’s the right mix of old/new in this remake. If they can keep it up where there’s enough new things and subvert some of the expectations (spoiler: climb the bell tower) - it might be juuust right.

I wish the initial collaboration was reversed where the engine was led by Toyota and exterior led by BMW. Then further refined by the respective companies.

Agreed. This is one of those games you can easily throw in a backpack and where you’re headed may not have internet access or bad cellular - it’d be nice to have the basics.

Nendoroid figures have much better faces, IMO.

It’s one thing to support a terrible sports team from your home town. Regardless if the dude is from Vietnam or just has heritage there, this is another level to buy into and support such an unknown expensive quantity like a vehicle. Something that, you know, gets to you work reliably and needs to keep you and your

If he had one, the dude probably had to gave up that pension as well.

It’s a fine balance indeed. Remaking something great is always a risk. Too close to the original and it’s not refreshing enough. Too different and it’s alienating the core of the original. Striking that perfect balance and it could live on as one of the greatest remakes ever.

I was okay with Luis in the OG, even if cringey due to how sexist it is. But here? He sounds like a complete moron. That said... I’d like to see Leon take a minecart ride with him and I hold out hope that his personality will grow on me.

I don’t understand your comment. It looks weak to me. Does it look appealing to you? If so, how? Just curious about what excites you? Is it a chance to play one of the best games ever? Is it the new graphics?

I LOVE the Resident Evil series. But RE4 Remake seems... a little weak? Maybe it’s the actor’s voices. I’m used to Krauser’s deeper voice. Or perhaps it’s because I played it again last year with the RE4 HD Project texture mod and that was really good at a refreshed nostalgia run. (re4hd.com)

This is the kind of gaming journalism I like to see.

That’s neat. I wonder if I’d get less VR motion sickness if a part of it, like a vehicle interior or cockpit, were stationary. Also, I haven’t played racing games since GT 3 on PS2, so it’s been a while.

Interesting! Thanks for the input.

Wait... is that how racing rigs are done now? No more multi-monitor setups, just a VR headset with a seated rig to accommodate petals, a steering wheel, and maybe shifter?

Over time, Frosthaven might take the #1 spot. I haven’t played it, but it’s supposed to be better than Gloomhaven in many ways. They just have to get enough copies to customer hands and people have to play through it to give a rating.
