And wherever public transport is available I prefer to sit in a bus in traffic and get driven to work. Even with traffic I can catch up on emails or watch videos. I’m driving a manual car whenever I know I can actually drive.

In Europe, left lane hogging and passing on the right are also illegal, so the majority of drivers know they aren't supposed to be in the passing lane holding up others; the police ticket you for that there. The US should just enforce these laws, they are present in most state's vehicle code.
