What you call "cherry picking" is what we in academia call "supporting a thesis".

Seriously. Her entire video series is about presenting examples of certain tropes. By definition, that will involve...showing a whole bunch of examples of those tropes. This is remarkably basic stuff.

He's not an art critic.

You linked to an Amazing Atheist video, so no, not watching that.

The fact that you think my beliefs are "radical" indicates to me you have very little experience with academia. Have you ever set foot inside a humanities class? Honest question.

I explained why.

Such as?

The examples you put forward just shows that Anita communicates in double-bind messaging.

Oh wow, did you seriously just recommend I read Death of the Author?

And games designed by women are full of...oh, wait.

Let's start with the fact GTAV has a gay bar. Look it up.

You do realize that presuming your audience is going to be primarily straight sort of makes sense?

But seriously, can we get away from the whole, "Because men," line of reasoning? It's intellectually lazy.

She has stated that these games harm women. She does not talk about a "more," she speaks of an "either or." Go watch her videos. Not once does she say that "these are fine, but developers should work to diversify the landscape," she says they are "bad," "harmful," "damaging," etc. etc.

So, if the obvious answer is that video games are an imperfect simulacra of the notional reality that there are only female sex workers, and that sex workers only exist within the continuum of life where existence is dirty or cheap, then yes, we have an accord.

So, they were realistically ignored

Firstly, all art can, and should, be analyzed under the microscope of social and technical scientific analysis.

society as a whole doesn't pay much attention to them, so what makes you think a video game would be any different?

You really are delusional, aren't you?

Thanks for enlightening me.

It's not only fallacious but it's also prone corruption by cultural perspectives.

Again, you're pretty keen on attacking straw men (and tossing out insults, when I've been perfectly civil) rather than actually engaging with the presented arguments, so I think I'm gonna call it a day.

It's not merely "the opposition". It's "assholes arguing in bad faith". I also don't go around reading Stormfront or OneMillionMoms.com
