These (in my opinion) botched interpretations of feminism are why I rarely come to Jezebel anymore . . . it's like, all buzz words and little thought behind it.

I'm broke, so when I have to fly, I do so with klonopin.

If only you had a waving hand emoticon followed by a pitchfork emoticon to better express your sentiments.

oh my god, it's like asshole spoken word

Same. This is an INJUSTICE.

Congratulations! I was in a similar position not too long ago — I started grad school straight out of undergrad and I'd had jobs very similar to those you listed. My advice is to take yourself seriously and not to over-apologize for your inexperience: identify as a professional in your field, not "just" an intern.

"or, failing that, an environment where being the most violent person in the room is rewarded within the hierarchy"

Legislate good taste? No, of course not. Make noise when companies act in poor taste? Draw people's attention to issues like this? Yes, absolutely. Awareness is the first step.

It's great that you're creative! It sounds like your innate creativity was a strength for you, and likely a protective factor when considering the media's influence on your personal development. But not everyone is as creative as you, and most people are shaped by the media in ways they don't even realize because we

Even if they refer to a psychiatrist (a prescribing doctor), a SW is more likely to be okay with non-medication, especially in the case of an adjustment "disorder." I think psychologists tend to operate a little more within the medical

I would watch the CRAP out of Cooking with Wine, and I would only be a little embarrassed about it.

I'm sorry, I'm actually completely serious. I wasn't trying to make you jealous, exactly — I guess my cisprivilege was showing. But if you were in Boston, I'd braid the shit out of your hair and paint your toenails and measure your bra size and drink lots of wine and do all the other things that happen at young adult

I'm afraid you're right — nail-painting, hair-braiding, whispers about boys, Murder in the Dark, lines softly blurring between homosocial and homosexual . . . slumber parties really are what they seem.

It really ticks me off that judges keep making deals with her. If it were one of us mere mortals we'd be in jail right now.

If she touched him sexually (and it sounds like she did), then Danny Brown WAS sexually assaulted on stage — no "try" about it. I think it depends on the state, but in some places, non-consensual oral sex is rape.
