I love the 'we've lived like this for seven years'—when their daughters are 3 and 1— reply. It's like that (all too common) refusal to admit kids change things and sometimes you have to settle the fuck down so they can not die.

yeah I think it's a bit odd to rail against any product that lightens skin. The point about them not even carrying a concealer in her shade is pretty valid though.
This... is pointing out the obvious. I think that's why so many people arguing points you didn't make. Everyone knows why they did it.
Well 'kids' is a wide range, but I'm aware they can re racist and enforce racist ideals. My point is that even the ones who aren't racist and don't know what it is are likely to dà the 'haha wtf is on your head' thing being taught tolerance.
I was speaking specifically about children. I think in adults it's pretty obvious that the issue is racism. But with kids it's more that they stand out because they wear a very distinct item on their heads.
Well I definitely sometimes know better what a person should do with their lives than they do
If 9/11 hadn't happened, I feel like kids would still make fun of other kids who are required to wear funny things on their head. Turbans aren't quite as unassuming as kippahs
Er it's not legal to record video of people in their homes without their permission. Like at all. Audio or no audio. Stop playin'
ah well finally, a point we can agree on ^_^
Definitely. And because I sometimes get caught up in my little factual corrections, I'll add again that I 100% agree we have an issue with stigmatising the mentally ill.
I don't give a fuck about you and your boyfriend. Just, you know, for the record. You keep bringing it up and I have no idea why. I've stated my opinion on Shakira's relationship based on her words in an interview. I'm not arguing her preferences. Her preferences are clear. Yes I think it's problematic and yes I think…
You asked if I thought you had agency. I said I didn't know whether or not you consider yourself your boyfriend's property. You replied 'same for her.' False, not same for her. The explicitly states it in the article. The one you clearly didn't read.
She didn't say she was in a relationship where she and her partner are territorial. She called him territorial, referred to herself as his 'turf' and said he doesn't LET her do something she previously enjoyed doing.
Since they account for such a small fraction of violent crime in the country, and the mentally sound account for the rest, I make the claim that the mentally ill are less dangerous than those without mental illnesses.
If you can't make assumptions about people's relationships based on how they explicitly describe their relationships, then when can you?
Did you read the article? I put turf in quotes for a reason.
I agree that one doesn't ned a mental illness to be violent. I guess we don't disagree. I just think the wording needs to be very specific. You haven't proven that mentally sound people are 'more dangerous' only that mentall ill people aren't more likely to be violent. It seems to me that the vast majority of people,…
I'm not going to make assumptions about her love life based on the lyrics of a song she co-wrote in 2000-whatever.
I'm not talking about you, but you're welcome to be offended. I don't know anything about your relationship and whether or not you consider yourself your boyfriend's property or 'turf.'
I'm asking whether you can cite any of it? Not your opinion and I'm not necessarily shocked if it's true, but you worded it very specifically and haven't really backed it up. I googled the APA and haven't seen any numbers.
