If a developer supports OS X, then the port should be good. "Play it on Windows" is a dumb response.

You can probably play just the GoT mod and be happy. My girlfriend and I exclusively play the mod together (although I get some time in on my own in the regular gameworld). They work differently, and the various versions of the mod I've played are a little more restricted than the regular game but it's a ton of fun.
