That’s great, but I was only quoting the closest thing there is to “best in the world”, which is what the conversation was originally about. You can take your condescending tone elsewhere.

Infant mortality rates and life expectancy rankings don’t seem to agree with you fam

North America is the world now? I thought it was common knowledge that the USA’s healthcare system is shit and Canada’s only looks good because it’s next to the US

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or stupidity

All I see is “best in the third world”

“Cuba had the best healthcare system in the World”

Maybe, maybe not. I still think the French government made the right choice at the time because although France being on the project would have meant more money and engineers, to me adding even more requirements to an already struggling development doesn’t sound like it would have done it too much good.

You started off by saying that the Rafale and Typhoon share the same role, which they kind of do now (albeit pretty painfully for the Typhoon), but that was not originally the case. I never denied that France was expecting a leading role in the design as well as the aicraft using snecma engines, so why do you keep

I’m calling bullshit on that. Here’s what the French senate has to say about it:

The Rafale’s flyaway cost is not $150million though

You’re not being factual, you’re either being biased or are horribly deluded, or both. The Typhoon was not supposed to be a multirole fighter, there is no debating that. The multirole capability was added later, just like it has been added to the F-14 or F-15. The integration is quite painful by the way, because so

Dude
$90million is barely less than a Rafale’s flyaway cost, and for what? A plane that’s not made in France and that’s more expensive to operate.

I don’t think Rafales fly without droptanks during anything but airshows.
Also this might sound dumb, but the Rafale has more hardpoints, which allows stuff like this :

Stop spreading lies. The UK wanted an interceptor, and Germany was in favor of the UK’s prototype rather than France’s. France made the right choice not to go with the aircraft that could not fulfill the intended role, period.

Now you’re just being revisionist. The Rafale and Eurofighter DO NOT fill the same role. From the very beggining the UK wanted a long-range interceptor so they could operate over Eastern Europe from their own bases, while France wanted a medium-sized multirole. Ffs, most Eurofighters still aren’t capable of carrying

Meh, those were way beyond their expiration date anyway, they were supposed to be retired years ago.
They weren’t even that good when they were designed, too. The Navy wanted a carrier-capable Jaguar which ended up not happening. IMO they should have navalized the Mirage F1, it would have been perfect for the task.

Are you serious?
There’s a reason we dropped out of the EF2000 program, we needed another plane than the one that was being designed. The current Typhoon is primirarly an interceptor, while we wanted the plane to be extremely versatile.

Calling it a “French problem” just makes you sound deluded.
