Driving like this is a Mediterranean thing, Come over to Malta, a small island just south of Sicily and it's the same, only there is even more colourful swearing involved.

It's called Apple Thunderbolt Display. It also charges your macbook whilst you have it hooked up to the external display. [www.apple.com]

1st generations have always been lacking hardware wise. my 1st generation iPod touch was also horribly underpowered. To be honest all it really needs is more ram. I'd assume that planned obsolescence will be less of a problem with the iPad 2 and most definitely with the new iPad, unless they overhaul iOS to be more

I think there's one thing that most reviewers that say the new iPad is not a big of a jump that they are forgetting. iPad 1 was released with ios3 which basically made it a bigger iPod touch. it really came into its own when iOS 4 was released. The same can be said for the iPad 2. I am think ( and hope) that the real

The nexus one came out the same year as the iPhone 4 and iPad 1, and yet it's stuck on Gingerbread 2.3.4 and that's it. No ICS upgrade.

I thought 1.6 was the first commercially available Android OS on the g1? 1.5 and before were only for development purposes? my knowledge on android is a bit patchy.

And I'm not sure what will happen with iPad. The first iPad was released with iOS 3 and is currently on iOS 5. thats 3os'es it's been through. iOS 4 was released the same year as the iPad 1 so I'm guessing it will get one last update to iOS6 before reaching EOL.

iphone 2g: ios1 -> ios2 -> ios3

Windows should really drop 32bit, not sure anyone with that sort of CPU will be able to run w8 easily anyway!

Downloading as we speak. How come there's a ±700mb disparity between the mac DMG and the windows zip file?

I know it does, but it's not available to my country yet. I'm ok with converting mkvs to mp4's, I just love that grid view full of correct id3 tags and artwork!

Can this stream movies and content off a local device rather than the cloud? The country I live in is physically ready for streaming (25mbit fibre optic and uncapped data considered a strong marketing term is the norm) but the publishers are not. iTunes only delivers overpriced SD content, netflix,hulu, BBC iPlayer

it's only those that loved snow leopard that complained about lion, as a person that started with win95 when I was just 4 y.o who upgraded to all windows oses except ME/2000 up till w7 onto lion, I can wholeheartedly recommend it as its so much better out of the box.

I'm all for bringing iOS closer to OSX (not the other way round). The ipad would probably destroy laptop sales that way.

do tell, why exactly can't you get yourself to upgrade to lion? lion is my first foray into OSX and like you, I have to use windows at work, but won't touch it with at 10ft pole at home, I use lion features on a day to day basis.

The only modification Nokia should do is introduce landscape ui, and put w7 on their e7. I'd buy that without 2nd thought.

if you are buying every app on every tablet, then you're doing it wrong. Firstly Apple offers Business volume purchases to get around this problem: [www.apple.com]

Then again, the nintendo does games only. The iPad does comics,books, mags, internet, research, videos AND gaming.

if you want a good android tablet you have to pay. a $100 android tablet will crash, lack support of many apps and thus will only serve as further headaches for the parents
