Why are they making such a point to say that the loot boxes “are fun and enjoyable for people”? It’s not like that was ever part of this legal discussion. When I was in court for *allegedly* selling crack to 12 year olds I wasn’t all “but you know your honor, the kids really enjoy crack, it makes em feel good.”

That’s actually on purpose, and I’m impressed that Riley followed that rule.

The game rewards you for staying with the beat though. yeah, you can just sit there and never build a beat multiplier, but that’s like bumper bowling.

The terrible dialog is intentional. No More Heroes is a riff on anime.

About ten minutes ago: I’m done with hype culture, these crowds will cheer about anything. Nothing’s exciting about E3 these days.

I guess I feel the same way. It’s a shame that they’re calling it on Splatoon 2, since it has had better post-launch support than a lot of previous Nintendo efforts. But maybe it’ll make for a faster development cycle for Splatoon 3.

The Splatoon franchise has been huge for Nintendo (especially in Japan) so it's almost a sure thing that Splatoon 3 is coming at some point. I believe most of that team is currently working on Animal Crossing but that should be finished soon. I'm pretty sure the outcome of this fest will set up a lot of the campaign…
