Turboprops are very efficient actually, much more so than older turbofans. Modern fans would be much more efficient, but those would cost a lot of money and time to retrofit and those are two things Russia does not have much of right now. The NK-12s work fine for their intended purpose.

Not a piston engine, its a turboprop. One of, if not the most powerful types ever put into service actually.

Ah, didn’t catch that you were a club member. As shitty as it is, that changes things entirely. I worked for ERAC, and members got what they wanted for the most part.

Im not trying to argue against your lack of customer service here or anything but there is something you need to know about rental cars and weed: Almost every single one of them has been smoked in at some point. I used to work in rental and there is very little the car cleaners can do to rid the car of weed smell,

Wehrlein has shown that he can hack it, he pretty consistently brings the car home in better position than it really should be. I don’t believe Ericsson is in the same league though, there are GP2 drivers that could jump in the car 5 minutes from now and post a better finish.

Agreed. It sucked to see Manor dissolve, but my choice would be Sauber.

Yeah. It came down to the wire last year too, if Manor had gotten those points we would be sitting here talking about Manor-Honda (not really actually) and looking at the Sauber estate sale. They both needed that money to continue operations.

Some things to consider from a long suffering Sauber fan:

I thought about it.

My college apartment was infested with german cockroaches (the little ones) before I even moved in, and there are things you need to be aware of when dealing with them:

The Sauber is slow but its consistent and reliable when not crashed. Wehrlein is good enough to get it into he points sometime this year id bet.

The sad part is that the chassis is apparently very good but the engine is just so incredibly garbo that you can barely tell.

Hyundai/Kia brakes are, for whatever reason, just like that really badly until you get some heat in them and even then they are still sensitive. The first brake application after a rain is a clown show, it jerks you forwards so hard.

Having been in both I would take this over a Camry any day of the week.

I live in Birmingham and have a very leftist friend group but work with some extreme conservatives. Every single voting aged person I have asked about this guy hates his guts. He is detested here. By everybody. He has done exactly zilch for the state and for the people of Alabama and none of us can wait until his ass

This is fantastic. The first time I have actually laughed at something cross-posted to jalopnik proper in months.

Im still holding out hope that they can become at least semi-competitive once they get all these issues fixed, but I really had hopes that they would have avoided all this from the get-go. I am also really curious why they are so low on power, I know that they have that weird axial compressor turbocharger thing going

This ranks among some of the dumbest things i have ever heard said and the fact that you think that everybody thinks this way says more about you than anything else.
