Yep. While there were one or two smart guys in my grade school, most of them were hot messes. The teachers spent more time with them but not because they felt they were smarter, they needed more hand holding. It was only when I got out into the working world (part-time high school job) that I began to see how much

I have always felt so bad for Monica. Granted, I didn’t have an affair with the President when I was her age but I did so many very dumb things. Silly stupid mistakes and if they had received international press coverage, I’d look so bad. So my heart has always gone out to her.

I’ve only read Shrill. Read that one though. Very good.

Just finished Shrill by Lindy West an hour ago. Loved it! Funny, sad, thoughtful, honest—-highly recommend.

Get someplace nice but don’t be house poor. Also, while most people do want to move in 5 years, buy a place that you could comfortably live in for longer. I bought a 2 bedroom condo in 2006 thinking that I’d move in 5 years when we had a kid. We owned that place for 9 years because the housing market tanked.

I would watch that reality show.

The show inspired me to read the book which was really really depressing. The book begins when a few women working at Newsweek in the early 2000s realize that they’re getting passed up for promotions or they see some really skilled female interns not receive full-time jobs when males without internships are hired and

Yeah, when I first saw the image I thought he cut it and destroyed it. But seeing it was just a cover . . . meh. I don’t know. I’d let him off with a warning or a fine.

I agree with you - I think every place has their own special spin on racism. I lived in Texas and Chicago. In Texas they hid it behind a veil of faux politeness. In Chicago you’d have those moments where a cab driver would drop some heinous racism and assume you agree with him because you’re white. Both were terrible

You don’t even have to get out of bed! What a life!

I think when he says “living” he means “schtupping the nanny” and it’s true, he wasn’t able to do that until he had kids. So yes, very true Jude. Very true.

I have always liked her. I think because I usually also dislike the people she’s feuding with. So just based on that, I like her.

I also attempted that haircut but did not look like Meg Ryan. I looked like Lady Elaine from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.

I’m just going to say that I find him and the rest of the Bush clan to be terrible and stupid people but they’re also kind of hot. Would hit it and not admit it.

A former job of mine hired Tucker to speak at an event. It was during the George W. Bush years. He showed up late and wouldn’t answer his phone as we called him wondering where the fuck he was. He gave some terrible old speech full of Monica Lewinsky jokes that were all 5+ years out of date. He was fucking terrible.

Which book do you recommend I start with? I’ve never read any of hers.

After I found out that reindeer were real, I legit googled a bunch of animals that I wasn’t sure about. Ligers, wolverines, jackalope . . . it was like everything suddenly became both possible and impossible at once.

Congrats to you in advance!

With mine there’s no Malone behind it. He’s just kind of thoughtless. I get tired of reminding him that I need attention sometimes.

It’s an MA in Management. Just trying to get to the next level of my career.
